After the initial rounds, the program becomes a weekly broadcast knockout competition. Viewers call in to vote for their favored singers, and the weakest two - as voted by the judges and the audience's weekly SMS - face off subsequently in a PK, short for Player Kill. The singer with the least vote is eliminated. Unlike Pop Idol, the final is contested between the last 3, not two. Initially opened to girls of all ages, the 2006 season sets the lower age limit to 18.
